The Bali or Balinese tiger (Panthera tigris balica) was a subspecies of tiger that lived on the Indonesian island of Bali. The last known Bali tiger, an adult female, was killed in 1937.
This majestic big cat held an important place in Balinese culture and was also a significant part of the island’s ecosystem.
