Big Cats Statistics 2024
With your support, our goal is to give a portion of every coffee purchase to create more awareness as the 'Big Cat' (Panthera family) numbers are in decline. Animals need to be treated with compassion and respect, not only for their own intrinsic value but also for the critical roles they play in the natural world.
A sobering statistic — there are only tens of thousands of big cats left on Earth. In fact, many species of big cats have seen their numbers decline by more than 90% in just the last 50 years.
Primarily, the decline is due to habitat loss, poaching/illegal wildlife trade, and conflicts with humans.
Tigers, once roaming vast areas of Asia, are now critically endangered, with fewer than 4,000 left in the wild. African lions, which once numbered in the hundreds of thousands, are also struggling to survive as their habitats shrink and face increased threats from human activities.
