the story
Feritās is a Latin word that means the state of being wild, savage, or untamed. It comes from the Latin word ferus, which means "fierce".
This cover was inspired by the celebrated French painter Jacques-Louis David who painted Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass (Crossing the Alps) in 1800 which depicts him as a heroic and determined leader.
The painting captures his confidence and ambition in the face of challenging terrain, with artistic techniques emphasizing his grandeur and strength through the use of dramatic composition and symbolism.
"Napoleon Crossing the Alps" is considered one of the most iconic depictions of Napoleon, solidifying his persona as a powerful and decisive leader in the public consciousness.
